Built around three legs.
Not adapted from four.

AblePaw is developing a new generation of specialist harnesses for three-legged dogs — designed around asymmetric movement, everyday comfort and the freedom to keep exploring.

THE PROBLEM

Conventional harnesses assume symmetry.
Three-legged dogs don't move symmetrically.

When a dog loses a front or rear limb, normal harnesses can shift, rotate and load the body in the wrong places. AblePaw starts with the dog's changed anatomy and movement — then designs outward.

01

Stay centred

Harness geometry is being developed to reduce migration toward the missing-limb side.

02

Protect sensitive areas

Soft contact zones, careful seam placement and clear space around amputation areas are core requirements.

03

Keep moving naturally

The remaining limbs and shoulders need freedom to move without a harness fighting the dog's stride.

CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT

We are engineering the first AblePaw prototype.

The first programme is focused on a front-leg amputee harness. Rather than rush to market, we're taking a prototype-first approach: pattern development, fit testing, revisions and strength testing.

Our goal
“A harness that feels designed for the dog wearing it — because it was.”
PHASE 01

Research & concept

Define the unmet need, core fit problems and product requirements.

PHASE 02 — NOW

Engineering & prototype

Develop asymmetric pattern geometry, materials, hardware and the first physical sample.

PHASE 03

Fit testing & refinement

Test stability, comfort, movement and ease of use on real three-legged dogs.

PHASE 04

Launch

Finalise sizing, colourways and production after the design earns its place.

THE ABLEPAW STANDARD

Every decision starts with the dog.

Secure

Designed to stay in position during real movement, not just while standing still.

Comfortable

Padded, breathable and considered around areas that need extra care.

Adventure ready

For walks, travel, stairs, everyday assistance and the life still ahead.

Adjustable

Because amputations, body shapes and movement patterns are not one-size-fits-all.

ABLEPAW

Different legs.
Same possibilities.

We're building something better for three-legged dogs and the people who love them.
